Endreal, The Butler Who Did It

Month

July 2011

Hey everybody, Endreal/Reality Bandit here

Just a friendly reminder that “Shit, Let’s Be Wiki” will be starting back up on Monday.

Drop a topic—any topic—into my ask box, and I’ll write an encyclopedia-style article about it which may or may not be entirely fictitious.

And why don’t you reblog this, if you have the chance? You might not want to learn about the Mott’s applesauce controversy, or artificial bread crumbs, or LARPing, or gray Wendy loris (long-toed yarn-snatcher)…but I bet you’ve got a friend who does. :-D

ahhhh i am so jealous

I wish you could have! That would have been super-fun, I think!

  • Endreal: and made it to the top of the mountain
  • Endreal: and then got completely drenched by a rainstorm on the way down!
  • LK: Huzzah for hiking trips and reaching mountaintops! Not-huzzah for getting drenched in rainstorms!
  • Endreal: Dude, are you kidding? That was practically the best part! =D
  • LK: Why?
  • Endreal: Well, partly because it was hot
  • Endreal: and partly because I just love being out in rainstorms. :-J
  • LK: WHY?
  • LK: What planet are you from?
  • Endreal: one made of dirt and water and stones and trees. :-J
  • LK: Normal humans do not enjoy getting drenched in a rainstorm.
  • LK: Of course, you are not a normal human, so I shouldn't e surprised.

Yesterday I hiked to the top of a mountain, and then on the way back down I got drenched by a rainstorm.

I know I have some friends that love rainstorms, so I wanted to share my awesome weekend with everyone! :-D

Oh geez…my hair has gotten long enough that the ends of up brush up against my ears while I’m walking (and not wearing a hat, I guess). This…this is going to drive me crazy, if I’m not careful. :-|

Artificial bread crumbs, how do they work?!

Artificial bread crumbs is the working title for a product under development by Zahhak Provisions, LLC, a company that specializes in high-tech equipment for exploration and extreme climate survival uses.

Artificial bread crumbs is an experimental mapping and route-finding system that takes advantage of mobile RFID (M-RFID) technologies to assist trail blazers and spelunkers to determine and later re-find safe routes. By affixing BAP (battery-assisted passive) RFID “blazes” to a convenient surface along the route, then “registering” the blaze with a hand held reader that will note the position of the RFID tag—including relative elevation—a simplistic map can be generated. Triangulating the reader’s position between two registered blazes ensures that the user remains on the correct path. This system is designed for use in “void” spaces, where other position-finding technologies (especially GPS) are unavailable or unreliable.

This project takes its name from the trail of bread crumbs left behind by fairy tale characters Hansel and Gretel to find their way home when they became lost in the woods, because the user leaves a “trail” of RFID blazes to mark his or her path.

Doctor Who, also known as The Doctor, is a humanoid extraterrestrial of incredible power and cunning who originally hails from a planet called Gallifrey, and is well known for his possession of a tool called a Sonic Screwdrivier and for his tendency to employ humans as companions during journeys.

I know there’s no guarantee you like Steve Earle just ‘cause you like the Indigo Girls & this song you posted about young love and bank heists, but do you know his song “Billy and Bonnie”? Now I’m in the mood to hear it, but have no speakers at work.

Just snooped it out and listened to it! I was just thinking it’s got a little bit of a “Copperhead Road” sound to it.

…Then I realized what I was about to say, and had to bite my tongue to keep from laughing out loud.

My tongue really hurts right now. :-P
